The Ranney Ranch is a 18,000 acre family-owned ranch that sits at 6200' in the high mesas of central New Mexico. We breed all of our stock for sale and keep records on each cow and calf. Owners are George, Edward, David, Na

History
The Ranney Ranch has been in our family since 1968, but was first homesteaded back in the 1800's. Before that we know that the Anasazi Indians had settled in this area around 
1100 A.D. Our ranch is just east of the Gran Quivira pueblo ruins. The locals here find arrowheads, pottery shards, and even a turquoise bead or two. Up on one of the high mesa ridges you can still spot a petroglyph of a coyote keeping watch over the valley below.
